Randpark Club Gives Back to the Community

by | Nov 15, 2017

Randpark Club recently made donations to various charities in desperate need of assistance.  This contribution was possible with the help of their members who throughout the year have been contributing to the Captains Fund.

Money was raised by prizes that were donated for raffle draws, monetary donations and through golfing fines. These ‘fines’ were handed out to team members for golfing infractions that happened during the game.  They generated a lot of laughter during the year and were all in good fun and for many great causes.

Donations were given to 11 Angels, Tshepo Foundation, The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce Disaster Relief Fund and the Randburg SPCA.  November this year marks 40 years that the staff of the Randburg SPCA have been servicing the community and their animals.

Pastor Patrick Dlamini from the Tshepo Foundation commented, “With the recent hail storm in Johannesburg we experienced damage to our property and computers.  We would like to use these funds to fix our computers and buy educational toys for the children.”  The Tshepo Foundation assists with the upliftment of disadvantaged communities, with the main emphasis on children, also the elderly, bringing them new hope in a world where there seems to be none.

11 Angels assist those who are suffering from a terminal illness so as to provide hope and relief from financial burden, pain and suffering therefore affording patients a better quality of life.

Quintus Lottering from the Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce is incredibly grateful for the donation and commented, “Many are in need that have suffered loss by the storm. We have opened a Disaster Relief Fund on behalf of ROCCI and its Members in aid to help restore, rebuild and take care of those in need.”

Francois Swart, General Manager said, “A big thank you to all the members contributing during this past year, you really have made a difference in people’s and animals lives that need it most.”
