Randpark Club Re-Launches Driving Range

Randpark Club successfully relaunched their driving Range on 23 June 2017. SuperSport Presenter and 3 times South African PGA Championship winner, Dale Hayes officially opened the range.

Dale Hayes provided great golfing tips on how to improve your game and had the audience laughing with his trick shots and bendable golfing clubs. Kajal Mistry, the 2017 Sanlam South African Women’s Amateur Stroke Play Champion came along to see if she could pick up a few tips and enjoyed hitting a bucket of balls at the driving range.

Callaway; Mizuno; Odyssey; Titleist; PXG; Srixon and TaylorMade came out to support the day by showcasing their latest golfing equipment.

The new Trackman 4, the most advanced fitment center available in the world was used to test golfers’ ability. This runs on a doppler radar system and camera combination that assists golfers improve their game. It measures club head speed, ball speed, ball trajectory, ball carry, ball spin rate and dispersion. With this state of the art technology there is no club in the bag that the custom fitment centre cannot fit. A fantastic benefit of the Trackman 4 is that it has a putting application so that the roll and skid of the ball can be shown on the putting stroke.

Fitment expert Riaan Spangenberg assisted keen golfer, Dean Toi to customise his clubs to his specification at the relaunch, after using Trackman 4. The lie angle on the entire set of clubs was lifted by 2 degrees and all the grips were changed. “Since customising my clubs at Randpark, it has made a big difference and definitely improved my game. Everyone’s hand size and height is different so I would definitely recommend a customised fitting. I understand some golfers are hesitant to try this due to the extra cost, however it is worth it in the long run,” said Toi.

“Every golfer swings the golf club differently and it is quite difficult to find a club off the shelf to suit every player. Customising your club will help improve your game of golf and your enjoyability of the game,” commented Spangenberg.

Phil Simmons, the Manager of the Driving Range said, “Randpark now has the complete package. A golfer cannot find any better facility than what Randpark is offering.”

Equity Trader Erwee Botha’s shares continue to go through the roof. But in this instance we’re not talking the JSE, you understand. Rather, it’s his fast growing stature as a golfer at Randpark.
The former Central Gauteng provincial golfer has won the men’s Club Championships for what is believed to be a record sixth time following a gross round of 73 at Firethorn on Sunday and a 71 at Bushwillow on Saturday. That gave him a level-par 36-hole 144 aggregate …

The US Open: A nine-putt green, and Els dodges a ‘klap’ from his old man

THE 120th edition of the US Open, switched from its usual spot in July to September because of the pandemic, begins this Thursday at Winged Foot’s West Course in the state of New York. There are six South Africans in the field – Louis Oosthuizen, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Erik van Rooyen, Justin Harding, Shaun Norris and JC Ritchie, and hopefully one of them will create history by emerging as champion, and thereby emulating compatriots …
